Gillian Taylforth has landed another acting job.
It seems that the Eastenders star has enjoyed a bit of a career boost since appearing on Celebrity Big brother last month and after being eliminated from the reality TV show halfway through the series, it’s been confirmed that she’s joining the cast of Hollyoaks.
The 57 year old actress – best known as Eastenders’ cafe owner Kathy Beale – will take on the role of the mother of five brothers in the Channel 4 soap. However, as yet the team haven’t released any more details about about her character.
Gemma Bissix – who played Clare Devine in ‘Hollyoaks’ between 2006 and 2007 and briefly returned in 2009 – will also be making a comeback last this year.
Gillian stripped off for a new photoshoot this week and we have to say, she looks astounding in her sexy lingerie.
The star revealed that a healthy diet and a bit of Zumba keeps her in shape and told Closer magazine:
“In the past couple of years, I’ve started doing Zumba three or four times a week, which really keeps me in shape.”
“I also have a set of three hand weights from Argos, so I try to do a few reps of those every day.”
She added: “I eat healthily and I don’t eat a lot of meat. I’d rather skip the meat and have the veg when I have a meal!”
Gillian has starred in a number of TV dramas as well as her iconic role in Eastenders. She has played Sergeant Nikki Wright in police drama ‘The Bill’, Jackie Pascoe-Webb in ‘Footballers’ Wives’ and Taylforth also appeared in ‘Doctor Who: Dimensions in Time’, a charity crossover special between ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Doctor Who’ in 1993, along with Colin Baker, Jon Pertwee and Peter Davison.
