Surely it cannot have been a coincidence that Chantelle Houghton has given birth to her first baby on Father’s Day?

The 28 year old star – who rose to fame when she became the first non celebrity to enter the Celebrity Big brother house back in 2006 – fell pregnant to fellow CBB winner Alex Reid last year and has been pictured looking increasingly tired and worn out looking in recent weeks.

The pair have had their ups and downs, with her moving out of their shared home just a few weeks ago and spending a few nights sleeping on the floor of her old unfurnished flat.

However, today Reid revealed that he was ‘ecstatic’ after Chantelle gave birth to the pair’s first daughter in hospital.

He tweeted:

‘I’m delighted to announce the arrival of my beautiful baby daughter early this morning.

‘Both mother and baby doing well.’

Alex added:

‘This really is the most amazing day ever for the 3 of us. Life isn’t good, it’s great.

‘I love my girls so much. Happy ecstatic father’s day!’

Are we the only ones that find the timing of Chantelle’s baby’s birth a little bit suspect? We could be wrong and we have no idea if she gave birth naturally or was too posh to push, but let’s just say that we wouldn’t be at all surprised if the tot had been delivered as part of an elective section and the pair had chosen Father’s Day to maximise the chance of them landing a big cash magazine deal.
