With the X Factor ending last night with James Arthur being voted this year’s winner, and EastEnders star Charlie Brooks already being crowned 2012 Queen of the jungle, it marks the beginning of the end of the festive reality delights for 2012, meaning only one thing – ITS NEARLY TIME FOR BIG BROTHER!!!
And of course, the build-up to Celebrity Big Brother always promises as much rumour and controversy as the show itself, starting with the reports today that shamed jockey, Frankie Dettori has signed up for the show next year.
Dettori was banned from horse racing until May following a positive testing for a banned substance back in September, meaning his diary is pretty clean – cleaner than him anyway!
The Daily Star has reported that Dettori is a “dead cert” to take part in the hugely popular Channel 5 reality show when it returns in the New Year, with a source commenting to the publication:
“Frankie has all but signed on the dotted line for a reality TV show.
“He knows his image is in dire need of a boost and that, combined with his reputation as the housewives’ favourite, make it a no-brainer.
“Frankie knows he’s fallen off the wagon big-time but he’s keen to show the world that although he’s done wrong he’s still an all-round nice bloke.”
And we are sure that Frankie will be happy with the fact that his name is being written on bookies chalkboards up and down the country once again, as he is currently a firm favourite to win the show, with odds at 3-1.
Coral spokesman David Stevens said: “In the last 24 hours we have seen a run of bets, forcing us to suspend betting.
“Given the timing of his suspension, Celebrity Big Brother in the New Year would look the most likely option.
“We make him 3-1 favourite to win it.”
Other stars rumoured to be taking part in next year’s show include Katie Price, Meat Loaf , former MP John Prescott and shamed Justin Lee Collins as well as eccentric X Factor contestant, Rylan Clark, although he has just committed to the X Factor tour which is due to commence at the end of January.
