There was a time when Ian Watkins was one of the irritating blokes in between the eye candy girls of Steps. Actually, he was the most irritating bloke.

And when he went into the Big Brother house, I thought it was going to be more of the same. It was “H” for “Hyperactive”, after all, wasn’t it?

But if one celeb has changed my opinion over the course of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother, it’s Ian Watkins. It was a shame that he came fourth, but he’s a genuinely nice guy and - shockingly - I think he deserves a second chance at a TV career.

As Davina wheeled him down the gangway toward the studio, Showbiz Ian took over and he became very Saturday morning kid’s TV for a moment. Boringly, he was asked for his take on the…yawn…..Jade v Shilpa deathmatch, and why he didn’t interject and stop things. We’ll hear this at least three more times before the night ends…

Anyway, well done Ian! “H” is dead, long live “H”!
