Oh No! Mark Wright leaving The Only Way Is Essex for Celebrity Big Brother 2011?
Mark Wright is reportedly threatening to leave The Only Way is Essex.
The show returns to ITV2 for it’s third series this autumn, but the nightclub promoter is said to be holding producers to ransom, saying that he’ll walk if they don’t increase his wages.
TOWIE stars are currently paid just £50 per day on the ITV2 reality series, however Mark has reportedly been offered a massive £250,000 to appear on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ when it re-launches on Channel 5 later this month, and is “seriously considering” following in the footsteps of co-star Amy Childs and jumping ship.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “There is disquiet over pay. A lot of big names have been offered serious money for other shows. Mark is now seriously considering his future on the show.
“There has been a lot of interest in him from elsewhere. He has yet to decide if he will return for the new series. He loves it but he has to decide what is best for his own career.”
However, ‘TOWIE’ bosses claim show stars can cash in on personal appearances and sponsorship deals to boost their income and have warned “nobody is bigger than the show.
A source added: “If people think they can make more money elsewhere they are free to go. Nobody is bigger than the show.”
Amy Childs confirmed her TOWIE departure earlier today and is said to be all set for an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother at the end of this month. Will you be watching and should Mark join her? Leave your comments below.
