After the tragic news that his brother is terminally ill, plus the announcement that his ex-wife, Katie Price is Big Brother bound, Peter Andre has declined Channel 5’s offer to take part in next year’s Celebrity Big Brother, saying that it is simply “not his thing”.
We reported at the weekend how Peter, who has two kids by Price, had to call off his UK tour until after Christmas when he was given the heart-breaking news that his older brother, Andrew, had been given days to live following a painful battle with cancer.
This came in the midst of several rumours that Andre, whose new series of ITV2 reality show, My Life, began returned last week, was considering taking part in next year’s Celebrity Big Brother.
However, Peter, who met Katie during his time on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, has now put the rumours to rest, insisting that he has no intention of taking part in the show, and that the only reality project he would consider these days is Strictly Come Dancing:
“I’d like to do Strictly Come Dancing, but it takes up too long a time,” he said. “The one I would always be dubious about going on and can’t see myself doing.
“But then again you can never say never because I didn’t think I’d do I’m A Celebrity – is stuff like Big Brother…
“I don’t mean any disrespect to Big Brother, but there are certain shows I just wouldn’t feel as comfortable doing.”
He added: “I think TV is my future, but nothing can ever come close to me being on stage…
“The person I become, how happy I become, how focused I become – it’s all to do with stage, more so than recording an album.
“For me, it’s all about the concerts now.”
Other stars rumoured to be taking part in next year’s show include Frankie Dettori, Peter’s ex – Katie Price, Meat Loaf , former MP John Prescott and shamed Justin Lee Collins as well as eccentric X Factor contestant, Rylan Clark, although he has just committed to the X Factor tour which is due to commence at the end of January.
