Ryan Giggs has case thrown out of court – affair with Imogen Thomas and Natasha Giggs leaves him £1.5 million down!

It has been revealed that the High Court has thrown out a case brought by Ryan Giggs’ legal team, against British newspaper The Sun.

The football star recently dropped his anonymity injunction, which prevented him from being mentioned in reports of an extra marital affair with former Big Brother star Imogen Thomas, so that he could seek damages from the publication after he claimed that they “generated a large media storm” surrounding him and his family last year.

Of course, the storm erupted when he tried to ban the press from reporting on his affair with the former Miss Wales in 2011. Twitter users refused to respect his court order and Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming later used his parliamentary privilege and named Giggs in the House of Commons, opening the way for newspapers and magazines to report clearly on the matter.

At a hearing on February 21, his lawyer Hugh Tomlinson QC told the court that he was seeking damages from The Sun, explaining:

“He has suffered damage and distress by the chain of events that has been set off by the publication of the article in The Sun. We say the printing of information on the front page of a national newspaper can give rise to an action for misuse of private information.”

The High Court yesterday threw out the damages claim and it has been reported that the whole affair has cost the dad of two approximately £1.5 million.

PR Guru Max Clifford, who represents model Imogen Thomas told The Daily Star:

“It’s been another legal disaster for Giggs. So far his legal battles have been far less Manchester United and more like Bath City.”

Giggs of course also conducted an extra marital affair with his sister in law Natasha Giggs and in a recent interview, the brunette beauty admitted that she has no feelings for the sports star anymore.

She said:

‘I don’t hate him but I think he’s an idiot,’ she says. ‘And I do get a bit excited when Manchester United lose.’
