Tommy Sheridan evicted from Celebrity Big Brother

After LaToya’s exit, the Scottish socialist sensation (yes, a tongue twister!) has been evicted in the public vote. Not to the same level of cheers, the boo’s are much more obvious for ol’ Tommy.

Why? I liked him.

He tells Davina that he was “very very pleased” when she called out his name. Says he was disappointed when LaToya was called first.

Tommy says he thought he and Terry were favourites to leave tonight. When Davina asks him why he signed up for Big Brother, he says he’s studying for a law degree right now and he needed the money for fees.

He says he thinks the mix in the house was interesting and had a good dynamic. Wants to keep in touch with the guys in the house – Terry, Coolio, Verne.

On his reluctance to do tasks – “all the other tasks were good – that task was pish. In solidarity with Coolio, I had to stick out with him.”

On the male/female divide – “The primary nomination was always Ulrika, because she wanted to go more than anybody. We couldn’t give that reason, so we had to give other reasons. But when you’ve got a seven month old baby at home, then I can understand why you’d want to go.”

On Coolio – “I tried to challenge his use of certain language. I’ve played football all my life Davina – I’m used to being in team games with other men. Unlike Coolio, I have no problems with my sexuality.”

On Ulrika – “I think both of us are highly strung. She’s strong-willed, strong-minded. I think she’s got a short fuse. Sometimes, she says something and that’s it.”

On Verne – “He’s my favourite – I want Verne to win the competiton. We’ve all got certain burdens in life that we have to face, and he’s facing them with courage. He might be a little man, he is someone who faces up to his problems that in a way make us ashamed of the moaning that we do.”

On Ben – “Ben’s a lovely looking guy. I said the first night I was in there that I thought he had beautiful eyes, and I think he’s very manly. There’s a wee side of Ben came out during the chili eating contest.”

His most treasured memory – “probably winning at the football and listening to the moaning of macho Coolio that I was too rough on him.”
