Robin Cousins has admitted that most of the celebrities attracted to Dancing On Ice are less than well known.
The ice skating expert has revealed that like the rest of us, he often has never heard of the so called ‘celebrity’ contestants who sign up to star in the ITV1 series – Chemmy Alcott anyone? – but said that the process is too tough for anyone with a hugely successful career.
Speaking to the Daily Star the former Olympic gold medalist, added:

Dancing on Ice judge Louie Spence has proved he’s well deserving of the title of Big Queen as he recreated assorted iconic photographs of Her Majesty the Queen for T-Mobile’s Diamond Jubilee advertising campaign…
And in all honesty, he’s such a convincing Queen in the photos, I suspect he is in fact the secret twin of Her Maj, and he and Liz – as she likes me to call her – were separated birth.
Of his royal mimicry, Louie told TV Biz, “I absolutely loved doing the shoot and the T-Mobile ad – it was great fun.
“I’m sure I have done Her Majesty proud. Everyone knows that I make a fabulous Queen, so there really wasn’t any one else for the job!” Read more & comment »

Dancing On Ice suffered it’s worst ratings in years during the most recent series and it seems that bosses are placing the blame with the judging panel.
It has been reported this morning that ITV executives are to wield their axe on the judges and get rid of all three panelists Louie Spence, Katarina Witt and Robin Cousins, before the show returns next January.

Matthew Wolfenden may have won Dancing On Ice on Sunday night, but his ice skating career isn’t over just yet.
The Emmerdale star will soon set off on the show’s nationwide tour, along with fellow contestants such as Chico Slimani and Jorgie Porter, however he may struggle with some of his big routines, due to a painful injury he has sustained.

Last nights Dancing On Ice final for me, was the closest we’ve seen for years. There was no outright favourite. From the moment the series started it was always going to be either Jorgie or Matt, with Chico snapping at their heels. And realistically it could have been any of the remaining three celebrities skating that Bolero.

Matthew Wolfenden has admitted that after competing in an entire series of Dancing On Ice over the last few months, he doesn’t think he would ever agree to do it again.

Dancing On Ice drew to a close this weekend, which is just as well or our eyes would literally turn square with all the TV shows we have to watch each weekend.

Jorgie Porter may not have had as much input into her choreography for The Bolero as Matthew Wolfenden did before her, but the Hollyoaks actress still shone when she took to the ice for the final time this evening.
The blonde beauty admitted that she had never seen the iconic Olympic winning routine as performed by Torvill and Dean before this week – she was born five years after it was first seen on our TV screens – yet only hours after watching it for the first time, she and Matt had to re-create their own take on it, with the only rule being that they started and ended on the ground.

Matthew Wolfenden admitted that he was daunted and overwhelmed when it came to choreographing his own routine to The Bolero this week.
The Emmerdale actor won the chance to perform the iconic routine on the final of the ITV series, after Chico Slimani was eliminated earlier this evening and in the rehearsal VT head coach Karen Barber revealed that she was impressed by how much input Matt had into the choreography and how much he led during the practice sessions.
The only guidance given by Torvill and Dean was:
