Anthea Turner’s chances of progressing to the next stage of Dancing On Ice have hit the skids, according to the betting on Betfair. The 52-year-old TV presenter is the 13-8 favourite to be the third celebrity to leave the contest.
Punters are giving Anthea the cold shoulder ahead of Keith Chegwin and Baroness Oona King, who are both available at 11-5 to go on Sunday. Funnyman Joe Pasquale is a 9-4 chance to skate away in week three, while Olympic boxer Luke Campbell is a 3-1 shot for the axe this time round.
Odds of 5-1 suggest that Corrie actress Samia Ghadia has done enough to secure another week on the show, as has 6-1 chance Shayne Ward. At 9-1, Matt Lapinskas looks set to make his way to the fourth round, while Gareth Thomas and Beth Tweddle are the least fancied to go at 10-1 each.
Betfair’s Alex Bake said: “Anthea was in the bottom two last week and made it through by the skin of her teeth. Our customers don’t think she can improve that much in one week, and, what’s more, she’s suffered an injury in training, making her progression to next week even less likely.”
Meanwhile, Matt Lapinskas has been installed as the 11-8 favourite to win this year’s show. The former EastEnders star leads the betting ahead of Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle, who is a 5-2 shot to triumph at the end of the series.
