Beth Tweddle returned to the Dancing On Ice rink tonight, to celebrate 80s week and she definitely did it in style.
The Olympic gymnast lost out in her battle against Hayley Tamaddon last Sunday night, so had a lot to prove when she made her comeback this evening.
The programme moved back three decades and embraced all things retro, as they celebrated the 30 year anniversary of Torvill and Dean’s Winter Olympics win with The Bolero.
Beth started by admitting that she was still smarting from her loss last Sunday and confessed:
“Last week was my worst yet. Stood there in that lineup was horrible.”
“It was a really tough week, if you fall over and land flat on your face you have to get over it. At the end of the day Olympic medallists don’t give in, they get over it.”
However the star had a smile on her face when she tackled her cheesy routine to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun on the ITV show.
The steps went to plan and the performance was fast, fun and impressive.
ASHLEY ROBERTS: I was nervous, this is my number one karaoke sing. You gave me smiles and stars and feistiness!
KAREN BARBER: You took all the advice you were given, there were few intakes but who cares. You are learning and improving every week.
JASON GARDINER: I quite liked the fact that we got to see what you do, it’s about bringing something new to your routines. What you did was brilliant and I love that you did let go.
NICKY SLATER: I was watching the flips and splits off the ice and thought that didn’t count. So I wiped all that from my mind and watched the skating. You did it so well, loved the lifts, very difficult. There were a few mistakes, which affected my marks but I loved watching you skate, both of you.
