Hayley Tamaddon has been hard at work this week, trying her best to perfect her first solo skating routine of the Dancing On Ice series and she had some extra pressure to contend with too.
After being eliminated last Sunday, Suzanne Shaw reportedly claimed the Coronation Street actress lacks skating skill when it comes to performing without her partner.
The star apparently doesn’t think Hayley stands much chance of winning the ITV show either.
To make matters worse, Hayley took a bit of a tumble during her rehearsal, and she tweeted fans a few hours ago saying:
“Well.. Just took a pretty bad tumble in my solo rehearsal.. Hurt my knee bad.. Let’s hope for a better show tonight eh?! #ifidontlaughillcry”
In the practice sessions, Hayley admitted that she ‘hates’ being without partner Dan Whiston on the ice but she pleaded with the coaches to make her routine harder and harder.
However in the end it led to her fall earlier today.
Tonight, skating to Maybe This Time, the brunette beauty started off strong, however all the spins and jumps did leave her a little shaky at points and we were sure one small wobble was going to lead to an all out fall at one stage.
The judges scored Hayley 31.5 for her solo effort.
Ashley Roberts: You are a natural performer, the context may have been a little off but you held yourself with great poise and I thought you did well.
Karen Barber: I know out of everybody you were dreading this but you did dig deep and you gave it your all.
Robin Cousins: Hayley the stuff that worked, worked really, really well, what I need to see is that the kerb steps are kerb and not straight lines. You gave us that Hayley razzmatazz face at the beginning and I really wanted you to act a little more and let it build. The skating was better than I expected.
Jason Gardiner: It definitely showed that you are vulnerable without Dan. Normally you are a great storyteller but tonight the determination was lacking.
Later in the night, when Hayley and Dan Whiston skated their paired routine, there couple endured another mishap as her skate caught during a lift and sliced Whiston’s ear.
The blood was flowing as the judges’ made their final comments…
