Jason Gardiner has insisted that Sam Attwater needs to change his behaviour if he wants to make it anywhere near the final of Dancing On Ice this year.
The former Eastenders star won the 2012 series of the ITV show and won high praise when he returned to perform on the all star run last night.
The hunk was skating with his real life fiancé Vicky Ogden and after his routine Jason said:
“I am relieved that you are here because you are a male celebrity that will keep Ray Quinn on his toes. ”
In a post on his Facebook page the caustic tongued judge revealed that Sam and his fellow contestant Ray Quinn are the only male contestants that stand out for him this year.
“Having seen them all skate, I can safely say it is going to be a close and fierce competition amongst our female celebs. The only male celebs that will really get me going and give each other a challenge are Ray Quinn and Sam Attwater.”
However Sam ended up in the skate off with Gary Lucy last night despite his high scores and Gardiner admitted that he’s failing to connect with the public once more.
“Sam however doesn’t fair [sic] well with viewer votes and last night found himself in the Skate Off against Gary Lucy. This was reminiscent of when he did the show three years ago and wound up in many Skate Offs only to be saved by the panel.”
Jason thinks the actor needs to start wooing the public and working in his image and continued:
“He clearly needs to go on a charm offensive with the public. Gary didn’t stand much of a chance against Sam in the Skate Off but to his credit he gave a better performance than his main skate.”
Attwater revealed that he was devastated to be in the skate off, and tweeted this morning saying:
“Thank you to those who voted for us last night. Gutted we were in the bottom 3 but hope you enjoyed both routines xx ”
His fiancée Vicky added:
“Thanks for all the support, a shocker result last night. But truly grateful @samattwater are through. #busyweekahead ”
