So, as we all know by now, Phillip Schofield has always wanted to have a quick skate on the ice over at Dancing on Ice, but the execs have always told him “absolutely not”.
Now, we don’t know how good the pair may be on the ice, but Schofield claimed that the execs had banned him from the rink in case he fell and caused himself some serious damage.
Dancing on Ice’s final ever series is set to kick off on Sunday evening on ITV and according to The Mirror, the show’s hosts have been put under pressure to have a go on the ice.
Speaking to the newspaper, Christopher Dean said: “It would be a real shame if the show’s hosts Phillip and Christine didn’t skate at least once.
“If we keep saying it would be nice to see them on the ice, then they may feel pressured to do it.
“I think Christine would be up for it, the problem is convincing Phillip. Come on Phillip – do it”.
We didn’t think there would be much of a problem convincing Phil to do it, he seemed up for it last year.
During a spot on This Morning last year, Schofield, 51, groveled that he had once been on the ice but he was told to get off as he didn’t have the right insurance for it.
He said: “I went on to the ice on our first series during a Friday rehearsal and I had a bit of a skate, had a stumble.
“I looked up and there was a line of suits standing there, who all beckoned me off he ice and said, ‘Health and safety, you can’t do that, you’re not insured’ and that has stood all the way through.
“Christine also wanted to get on the ice and she’s not allowed to either”.
A show source added: “Phillip is a good sport. I’m sure he won’t let us down”.
Would you like to see Phillip and Christine on the ice, or do you think it’s a disaster waiting to happen?
