Dancing On Ice 2014: Ray Quinn wins first perfect 40 for Flamenco
Ray Quinn may be this year’s Dancing On Ice front runner and favourite to win, but the actor was a bundle of nerves when he returned to the rink this evening.
Ray is not only a former winner of the ITV show but very much seen as the man to beat by the other stars. All the high expectations are clearly putting pressure on him though and he tweeted his fans tonight, admitting that he was terrified about returning to the ice.
“I’m sweating already!! Haha #DOI #nerveskickingin”
The former X Factor star was excited too though and before performing with Maria on the live show, he added:
“Oooooo getting exciting backstage now. #DOI see you at 6:15pm!!! @ITV @dancingonice”
Before performing tonight Ray said:
“I was really pleased we were at the top of the leaderboard but there is always the pressure to maintain it.”
He was a little ‘scared’ by his Flamenco themed routine and admitted ‘this is the most physically demanding one so far.’
It may have been demanding but Quinn pulled it off 100%. His skating was phenomenal, his dancing was great and his acting skills were used to their full extent.
Ashley Roberts: Honey those lines, you were flying through the air. I loved it, I wanted to eat it up! Amazing!
Jason Gardiner: Ray that was sublime, perfection, every nuance and thing that we needed to see was there. It was masculine, fun, sultry and sexy!
Robin Cousins: You are the celebrity, not the figure skater and yet you performed exactly the same as your partner. It ticked every box but you presented your partner without losing what you had to deliver as the performer!
