It looks like the fear of falling and hurting yourself on the ice never leaves you, even if you did conquer the ice rink and win the third series of the show.
It has been almost six years since Suzanne Shaw won the third series of Dancing on Ice and by all accounts, she’s nervous about reattempting some of the stunts, including the dreaded headbanger.
The 32 year old has told The Sun that “the scariest thing” she’s had to do during training thus far is The Headbanger, which sees the celebrity swung around by their ankles, with their head almost hitting the ice at points.
She said: “I did it last time but I always landed straight on the ice. I never had to land upright.
“Being bounced over the ice by your ankle and then thinking, ‘Oh, I have to land this now’, sends me into a panic attack in the middle of it”.
We’re positive you can pull it off Suzanne!
Meanwhile, in other DOI related news, it looks like we’re going to have a Battle of the Soaps on our hands in January when Dancing on Ice returns as both Hayley Tamaddon and Jorgie Porter are determined to win the competition.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Hayley said, “To be crowned champion again would be an amazing achievement.”
Jorgie added, “I really am going to go for it.”
A show insider remarked, “There’ll be war on the ice as they try to impress judges and mentors Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean,” and of all the returning former champs, the source added, “It’s clear this lot will be the most competitive bunch we’ve had…
“Many have won before and are not ready to lose.
“It means they’re doing moves now that fans wouldn’t usually see until later in the series.”
Dancing on Ice returns one final time on ITV on January 5, 2014.
