It’s all going on down at the Dancing On Ice rink this week, as the remaining four stars work their little bums off, rehearsing for the show’s semi final on Sunday.
After Kyran Bracken found himself eliminated from the competition following a skate off with Sam Attwater last weekend, Sam, Hayely Tamaddon, Ray Quinn and Beth Tweddle remain on the lineup and will each be battling for one of three places in the grand finale in two week’s time.
The celebrities, who have all won the show in previous series’, will each perform two routines and one must incorporate some high wire flying, which we have to admit, we always love.
While they work to make their swooping and gliding look graceful and not as painful as it is, the stars will be joined on the rink by coaches Torvill and Dean, who’ll perform an updated version of their routine to Let’s Face the Music and Dance.
Hayley admitted this morning that she’s struggling with the wires and the airborne moves and she tweeted fans saying:
“Nearly at the rink.I feel battered and bruised this morning from the flying! Another session today..Gotta get it right! #flyingtakespractice”
She’s pretty excited too and added:
“Oooh! Got our music for Sunday! And both pieces are amazing! Love them both! Can’t wait for you to hear! X”
Meanwhile, Ray Quinn is bookies favourite to win next weekend, but he’s insisted he’s just ‘blagging’ his way through the competition ‘on the edge of the skates.’
Chatting on Lorraine yesterday, the former Brookside star played down reports that the judges are favouring him over all the other contestants and admitted that he tries not to think about the expectations.
“I try not to think about it to be honest, the nerves are there anyway….”It sounds stupid but I live like a dog. I just live in the moment, in what is happening now and what I need to do now…”
Kyran Bracken blasted the panel and show bosses following his elimination this week, insisting that they have been wrong to be so openly behind Ray since day one.
The rugby star feels Sam is being consistently under-marked by the panel and he also tipped Beth as a contender for the trophy when the series ends next month.
