Dancing On Ice 2010: contestants sustain multiple injuries!

A number of Dancing On Ice competitiors have sustained injuries, whilst rehearsing for this month’s launch show.

Paul McCartney’s ex wife Heather Mills has snapped one rib, fractured another, torn muscles in her shoulder and injured her pelvis.

Speaking at the show’s press launch today she said:

“There’s not much else left to break. Until I puncture a lung I’m going to carry on.

“The only bonus to it is that I’ve been injured so much in my life that I’m good at healing,” she said.

Jeremy Sheffield tore his hamstring, he said: “I couldn’t train for two and a half weeks and for a while we were worried I wouldn’t be able to do the show.”

Former Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon has sustained a rib injury, which saw all the muscles attached to her ribs detaching from her rib cage.

She said: “It feels like I’ve broken every single one. I’m on the mend now, but it’s taken five weeks. When I first do it I could barely walk, sleep, laugh or eat because it hurt so much.”

Sounds like a dangerous sport that ice skating lark. We think we’d prefer to eat a kangaroo willy ourselves!
