Dancing On Ice 2010: Hayley Tamaddon is crippled by nerves
Dancing On Ice contestant Hayley Tamaddon has admitted that she suffers from terrible nervousness every time she performs on a Sunday night.
Saying that she feels wobbly legged and sick before she takes to the rink, the former Emmerdale actress added that she worries her nerves will lose her the title on the ITV show.
Hayley told The Sun:
“It’s horrible. I have to work on my nerves. I’ve got terrible jelly legs. No one has any no idea.
“My legs go all wobbly and I feel sick.”
“I make slip-ups and stumbles because I’m so nervous – not because I haven’t practised.
“I hide it with my face but my tummy is churning and my feet don’t want to go anywhere because I am shaking so much.”
Hayley has consistently been at the top of the judges leader-board on the Sunday night show, however she admitted that sometimes her nerves threaten to ruin her whole routine.
“My nerves get the better of me a lot. Nerves in an adrenaline way are good, but when they take hold of your body they paralyse you.
“Sometimes I’m at the point where I cry because I’m that scared. It’s something I’ve never felt before on stage or in a theatre.
“You’re on ice – on tiny little blades of metal. It’s real fear.”
