Sam Attwater has won the 2011 series of Dancing On Ice.

Chloe Madeley left earlier in the night, narrowly missing out on the chance to perform The Bolero, leaving Sam and Laura Hamilton battling it out for the trophy.

Sam and Brianne’s Bolero was electric and exciting. The judges loved it and the former Eastenders actor even managed to sneak in a quick boob grope at the end.

By contrast, Laura and Colin’s attempt at the iconic routine was a little slow and not quite as impressive as the one they followed. However the emotion and passion between the pair was moving.

Before hearing the result Sam thanked the staff, crew and coaches who have assisted him for the last few months saying:

It feels amazing and I have to say thank you to everyone who has been here and supported me. There are so many people here and I’ve had the time of my life down to them. I’ve made a friend for life and I wouldn’t be here now at this point if it wasn’t for Brianne.

Laura added:

“I want to echo what Sam said, it’s been an incredible experience. To think that Colin and I could have been not part of this competition at all. I want to thank everyone one this show and also my family and Alex. I have lived, breathed, slept ice skating with Colin for the last six or seven months.

On hearing that he was this year’s champion, Sam looked stunned and couldn’t let go of his partner while the fireworks went off around them.
