Dancing On Ice 2011: Stars to face the ‘Ultimate Skills Test’ for three weeks

This Sunday Dancing On Ice moves into a new phase.

For the next three weeks, the remaining ten celebrities will be required to prepare for the ‘Ultimate Skills Test’.

The new twist is going to really shake up the contestants as they can longer hide behind their pro skater and will be given specific skating skills to perform that require pure individual skating talent. They will learn a different required element each week and at the end of the period, will be marked on how they execute them as part of a routine.

This week 2010 series winner Hayley Tamaddon will return to teach the stars how to master ‘the step,’ in week two 2009 champion Ray Quinn will demonstrate ‘the jump’ and during week three, 2008 runner up Chris Fountain will show the contestants how to master ‘the spin.’

For the next two shows, the weekly skills will feature in individual routines, but they will not be specifically looked for and marked like the required element in previous series. A celebrity will still be axed each week as normal by public/judge vote.

In the final week the choreography for each routine will feature ALL THREE skills that the celebrities have been working on. The inclusion & execution of these skills will carry significant weight towards the individual scores and will determine who stays and who leaves the competition.

Exciting stuff eh? Could this be the end for Kerry Katona? Fingers crossed!
