Charlene Tilton has admitted that she often thinks about leaving Dancing On Ice.

The American actress has been in the bottom two twice so far in the ITV series and speaking this morning on Lorraine Kelly’s chat show, confessed that she does struggle with the harsh training regime and worries that she will do herself lasting damage with an injury.

The 53 year old confessed:

“To be very honest, at my age it doesn’t take a huge fall to really get hurt. It could take something really simple. Every day, I want to quit. I think ‘I’m done, I’m finished, I can’t do it.’ “

However there is one thing that keeps Tilton going, the thought of the autistic aspiring actors she regularly works with back home. She added:

In LA I worked with actors with autism and I teach acting to a group of people with disabilities and I’m getting so many lovely texts and emails and messages. So I can’t be hypocritical and quit and not try my best, when my students who have so many more struggles than I do, are doing so well. I have to practice what I preach.

Charlene also revealed that she has never taken part in an athletic sport, as she was plagued with physical problems when she was younger. So the road to ice skating glory has been an even longer road for her than most.

She admitted that she suffered many health problems as a child and that this is her first time being involved in anything physically challenging and competitive.

“I’m getting toned, but I came into this with not a single muscle tone in my body,” she revealed, adding:

“When I was younger I was a sickly kid. I had curvature of the spine, I wore corrective shoes, my legs were bowed and I had to wear braces and it was quite painful as they tried to straighten everything out. So I never did athletic things at all, all my childhood I was reading books, plays or autobiographies. So this is the first time I’ve done anything athletic.”
