Jennifer Ellison returned to the spotlight in tonight’s Dancing On Ice second episode. Have a look at photos of Jennifer during rehearsals this week.

The ITV series returned last week, but the former Brookside actress took to the ice for the first time this evening, alongside her professional partner Daniel Whiston. It almost all went wrong for the pair before they even stepped on the rink, as they were supposed to perform on the series launch show, but Dan injured his ham string and at one point was unsure if he would be able to skate on the series at all.

Thankfully he seemed in fine form tonight and looked as amazing as ever when he emerged on the ice.

In their pre-performance VT, Daniel admitted that having won Dancing On Ice twice before – and being the only professional to ever have done so – he wants to score the hat trick this year. However the pair’s first routine is a fast one and before the show Ellison confessed that she was terrified of not being able to pull it off.

This evening the pair looked stunning in their matching red outfits and their routine was very smooth and energetic. We loved how Jen utilised her acting skills throughout and the whole charleston feel to the piece was quite charming.

JUDGES COMMENTS:

LOUIE SPENCE: You’re definitely not like an ostrich! It was choreographed to your strengths, beautifully choreographed. You have wonderful extensions and it looked breathtaking. You would have got an extra point if you’d had your shoulders down.

ROBIN COUSINS: There is a lovely naturalness about the performance and it was like watching Bonnie Langford because there was this fantastic strong personality.

KATARINA WITT: All the good things have been said already and you can tell that you have a dance background. Yes maybe the steps are sort of careful but they’re perfect in a way. Your face is beaming which is so enjoyable.
