Jennifer Ellison gave herself quite the injury on Sunday night’s Dancing On Ice show and insiders say she didn’t recover from it quickly.

Although the former Brookside actress to the the ITV show’s official site yesterday, to assure her fans that she was feeling ok, sources behind the scenes say that even after the medics treated her and glued her wound, the blonde beauty was still queasy and vomited a few times backstage.

Jennifer had been performing a scorpion kick in a routine with her professional partner, Daniel Whiston, when she bent back too far and kicked herself in the head.

She finished the routine but was rushed to medics straight afterwards and a source told Metro:

‘The cut was really nasty, her head was covered in blood, but the medical guys did a great job closing it.’

‘Sadly for Jennifer she was concussed due to the weight of the skate hitting her head. After the show she usually hangs out with the other contestants in the bar to talk about their performances, but on Sunday she felt really sick and a bit dizzy.

The added:

‘Jen had lots of friends at the show as well and although she tried her best to see everyone she just didn’t feel right. At one point she had to rush to the toilet to be sick and then she left.’

Dan looked very concerned for his partner on the main show, however both were elated when they survived elimination and Chemmy Alcott faced Rosemary Conley in the skate off.

This week’s show could be a tough one though, as all stars will have to skate alone and take part in the Ultimate Skills Test, following which there will be a triple skate off and double elimination.

Ohh the pressure!
