Dancing On Ice 2012 Results: Who left? Rosemary Conley or Chemmy Alcott?

It was a dramatic night on Dancing On Ice this evening and while Sebastien Foucan managed to pull off his Russian split jump – just – Jennifer Ellison wasn’t as lucky and managed to cut her head with the blade of her own skate, while attempting a scorpion kick.

But the show must go on and when all the routines were ended, the voting lines opened as normal and during the later results episode, Phillip Schofield announced that Rosemary Conley and Chemmy Alcott had both attracted the lowest amount of public votes and would face each other in the skate off.

It wasn’t entirely surprising that Rosemary found herself in this position, as she has stayed at the bottom of the leaderboard for weeks and was the bookies favourite to leave tonight.

However, Chemmy had performed well earlier, and attacked her routine, even trying to bring some sexy attitude to the performance and we were a bit shocked when she ended up skating for survival, while Sam Nixon survived.

Rosemary took to the rink first this evening and for her second attempt at her routine to ‘I’ll Stand By You,’ promised to try and be a bit more daring. It didn’t really work, though we’re not sure how it could with the same choreography and steps and one thing that was very clear, was how little independent skating Conley is capable of. She did look so graceful as she glided around with Mark though!

Afterwards Jayne Torvill said:

‘That was another great performance, both were great so you should be proud.’

Rosemary added:

‘Chemmy’s brilliant and she deserves to go through!’

Alcott was next up, with her professional partner Sean Rice and though we thought she did very well first time round, during this attempt, she definitely tried harder with her dance moves. She isn’t the most natural mover, but we love how very brave and daring she can be. There was one section, when during a spin she got bashed off the ice, but she continued as if it never happened.

The judges then had their say. Robin opted to save Chemmy, Louie also favoured the skier and Katarina went on to also pick Alcott to stay. So Chemmy lived to skate another week.

On hearing the news, Conley said:

I have loved every second and this man is a new best friend in my life. He has brought the best out on me, I want to thank him for being the best coach and nicest person that God has put on this earth.

Can I say a massive thank you to Chris and Jayne, they are a massive inspiration and I don’t think people at home realise how much you do to make this show what it is. You are legends. I admire you so much.
