Dancing On Ice 2012: Sebastian Foucan & Brianne Delcourt give an amazing first performance! (VIDEO)
Sebastian Foucan was one of the lesser known stars who took to the ice on tonight’s Dancing On Ice second episode.
The freerunning expert is one of this year’s token sports people and has been partnered with popular pro skater Brianne Delcourt for the ITV series, but we can’t help but think that his obscurity may affect him as it did Andy Akinwolere, who was eliminated last week.
In his pre-performance VT it became clear that while Seb is already a talented skater, he did have issues with working in a team and Christopher Deane admitted that this oculd be a problem for the judges.
However, when they took to the rink – skating to Coldplay’s Clock – the pair looked perfectly in tune with one another and Sebastian’s skill was way beyond what we would have expected in his first performance. He was jumping, slipping and lifting and he and Brianne seemed at ease with one another. For us it was one of the best Dancing On Ice debuts to date.
JUDGES COMMENTS:
LOUIE SPENCE: You have a dance and speed ability. For me, you were constantly looking down at the ice. I enjoyed the choreography and the fact that there was some separation there, I liked the way that you did the rolls on the ice but it’s about the performance as well.
KATARINA WITT: I hope you get experimenting, because if you fall I feel that you will always fall on your feet. Technical skills, skating skills, I am so surprised. With those steps and the speed and the strength you have. I think the biggest challenge is for Chris and Jayne to keep choreographing routines that enhance your extraordinary qualities.
ROBIN COUSINS: I concur with everything these two have said but at the end of the day it is a skating competition as a partnership and as fantastic as it is to see you do all that work on your own, at some point you need to acknowledge that your partner is there and work that together.
SCORE – 17.5
