Dancing On Ice 2013: Beth Tweddle is bookmaker Betfair’s early favourite to win!
Gymnast Beth Tweddle currently leads the betting on Betfair to win this year’s Dancing On Ice as the 12 celebrities limber up for the first live show on Sunday.
With an Olympic bronze medal under her belt, the 27-year-old is the 11-4 favourite to beat the usual array of soap stars and ‘TV personalities’ to the 2013 crown.
Tweddle is tipped to skate her way to the title ahead of EastEnders star Matt Lapinskas, who is the 7-2 second favourite for victory on the ice. Meanwhile, fellow soap star Samia Ghadie is an 11-2 chance to win, with 2005 X Factor victor Shayne Ward available at 6-1…
Ex-Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson is in the mix at 13-1, with Olympic gold medallist Luke Campbell and rugby’s Gareth Thomas both available at 14-1. TOWIE’s Lauren Goodger can be backed at 34-1 to triumph on the hit TV show.
Odds of 60-1 and 70-1 respectively suggest that oldies Keith Chegwin and Joe Pasquale will struggle in the competition, while punters don’t seem to rate 100-1 shot Anthea Turner either. MP Oona King is the least fancied to win the contest with odds of 150-1.
Betfair’s Alex Bake said: “At the Olympics Beth demonstrated incredible balance and poise to win her bronze medal and our punters think she can transfer those abilities on to the ice.
“But it’s not always that straightforward. There are some strong sportsmen in this year’s line-up, while Pamela Anderson, who’s quite the dancer, could be the surprise package.”
