Dancing On Ice 2013: Could Dionne Bromfield be the youngest contestant yet?

Dancing On Ice doesn’t return to our screens until January 2013, but insiders say producers are already hard at work lining up celebrities for the new series.

One singer who may compete on the rink is young singer Dionne Bromfield, who is probably best known as the goddaughter of the late Amy Winehouse.

Bromfield made her first large scale public performance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2009 and a source told The Sun that now she is sixteen years old, she is keen to try her hand at a bit of ice skating and raise her profile even more.

If she does take part, Dionne will be by far the youngest contestant yet, and will be five year’s younger than Inbetweeners star Emily Atack, who at 21 was the youngest star to join the lineup back in 2010.

An insider told the newspaper: “Dionne is good on the ice and stands out from the crowd. She is fearless and picks up the basics quickly.

“She is also very mature for her age. If she is selected for the show, we’re confident she could handle the pressure it involves.”

Dionna has previously done some TV presenting for CBBC’sFriday Download, which aired from 6 May to 5 August. The 13-part series focused on themes such as music, dance, TV, comedy, movies, and lifestyle. Bromfield said:

“I did the audition and there were loads of well-known actresses auditioning, too. I didn’t think I stood a chance. I’d forgotten all about it until my mum came in to tell me I’d got the job! I didn’t believe her at first! It’s so exciting, and I can’t wait to get started!”

Jedward are also rumoured to be appearing on Dancing On Ice next year.
