Dancing On Ice 2013: Fans and celebs furious that this year’s live tour has been cancelled! Bosses say it’ll be back next year

Fans of Dancing On Ice were disappointed when they tried to book tickets to this year’s live tour only to find that it had been cancelled!

The show has of course featured a live tour – after each series ended on TV – for the last seven years, and has been a “money spinner” for not only the celebrity contestants, but also the show’s pro-skating stars.

And it seems that nobody’s happy behind the scenes that they won’t get the chance to boost their pay for this year’s series once it ends. And of course, fans aren’t best pleased either…

The Sun reports, “In the past seven years, Dancing On Ice stars including Corrie’s Chris Fountain, Hollyoaks beauty Jorgie Porter and ex-EastEnder Sam Attwater have raked in thousands each from performing their routines up-and-down the country throughout April and May.”

“The competition is stressful so it’s the tour they look forward to, where they aren’t facing the pressure of getting through to the next week.

“Also, they get paid a lot of money to go on tour which they’re all missing out on.”

However, the paper adds that ITV bosses are now regretting cancelling the tour and have vowed to reinstate it in 2014.

The insider added, “It was thought that with the recession, the tour wouldn’t be a great idea.

“But, actually, fans are really missing it.”

One of this year’s contestants, Shayne Ward, said, “It’s a shame about the tour. But it would be great to do something to celebrate the series, even if it’s one show.”

Were you among the fans who were annoyed that there won’t be a live tour this year?

For now, here’s a look back at last year’s tour…

This is a real shame and there doesn’t seem to be any good reason behind it. We’ve been in recession for the last 4 years but it hasn’t stopped it from being a success.
Very disappointing news and I would urge ITV to reconsider, not just for next year but for this year also.
