Dancing On Ice 2013: Jason Gardiner slates Luke Campbell’s lack of rhythm
Luke Campbell returned to the rink this evening, for his third performance on Dancing On Ice.
The Olympic boxer performed for his third time on the ITV show tonight and he and Jenna Smith had ‘When The Going Gets Tough’ as part of the school disco theme.
Luke looked every bit the ice skater in his skin tight white vest, covered with silver sequins and we could see a genuine progression in his skating this week.
He looked steady and performed quite a few jumps, tricks and lifts which we’re sure he was unable to carry out last Sunday.
After the routine the judges awarded Luke a score of 20 and explained their marks saying:
Jason: Luke, yes there is a lot of timing issues mate. It is so funny to watch because you cannot naturally feel rhythm. It looked like you were stepping on drawing pins. There was an improvement in the skill We need to fine tune the performance and presentation.
Robin: You had more fun, but there were 35,00 different rhythms and none of them to the music that was playing at the time. The skating skills are there but you have to try and find some natural rhythm.
Karen: I really do appreciate the skating skills.
