Dancing On Ice 2013: Karen Barber says Gareth Thomas & Matt Lapinskas have no common sense!
Karen Barber has been having a bit of a giggle over a recent incident that occurred on the Dancing On Ice training rink.
The ice skating expert works as a coach and a judge on the ITV show and was watching on this week when Gareth Thomas and Matt Lapinskas had a bit of a fall.
The pair will skate at the same time this weekend, as part of a new duel twist which will see the men and their partners performing together on the live show, but skating different routines.
They were rehearsing their moves when they got a bit too close for comfort and somehow Gareth ended up kneeing the EastEnders star in the testicles.
Pictures show the hunk doubled up in pain but Karen had a bit of a giggle about it all when she appeared on Daybreak this morning and she explained:
“It was more comedy than casualty. The boys were trying to out skate each other with more enthusiasm than control and that was the result.”
“They are very determined, very enthusiastic and that overrides everything else. Common sense went out the window and they just knocked each other over.”
Malone saw the funny side of it all and he tweeted later that day:
“Wow!!! Me and @mattylapinskas have a serious kick ass routine for Sunday’s @dancingonice .Time for sum fun brother;)xx”
Matt posted a photo of himself rolling about in pain on the ice with the caption:
“Just to let you all know myself and @gareththomas14 will be skating to the nutcracker on Sunday : ) ”
The men may be the best of friends but they will be going all out on Sunday to try to beat one another, as only one can win immunity from elimination from the judging panel. The other will face the public vote and stands the chance of being sent home on the later results show.
