Lauren Goodger thinks people are having a hard time respecting her on Dancing On Ice and she hasn’t even skated yet!
We first met Lauren when she shot to fame on ITV2’s The Only Way Is Essex and we were there when she worked her way through her tumultuous on off relationship with Mark Wright and her constant struggles with her weight and self confidence issues.
She’s well known for being a party lover, a frequent drinker and a fake tan enthusiast but now the star is keen for us to see a ‘different’ and more serious side to her.
Lauren performed in a group routine on the first Dancing On Ice show of the series last Sunday and this weekend she and her professional partner Michael Zenezini will perform on their own for the first time.
Goodger is looking forward to showing her real self to the public for a change and told Heat magazine that she can’t wait to get going on the ‘family show.’
Lauren said: “I just think it’s a great way to show a different side to me and learn something. It’s also a family show; it’s not about trying to make you look a certain way for entertainment…
“It’s a very big challenge and very different from doing ‘I’m A Celeb …’ or ‘Big Brother’, where you just sit there and you’re done in a couple of weeks.”
Goodger is worried about how the judges will react to her efforts and we don’t blame her, after all Jason Gardiner is back on the panel for 2013.
He was less than pleasant to many of the contestants who performed in week one and Lauren thinks he may be even harder on her because of her reality TV background.
“I’m terrified [of the comments]! It’s hard to get respect because I’m from ‘TOWIE’. I just hope people see that I’m really trying.”
She says she’s trying but earlier today we reported that bosses have apparently told the Essex girl off for missing practices, turning up late when she does make it to rehearsals and for her constant partying.
Jayne Torvill even expressed some worry about Lauren’s active social life in a recent interview.
