Dancing on Ice star Luke Campbell is starting to feel a little bit sad about the amount of time he’s spending working on the ITV show.
The Olympic boxer has been training in London on a daily basis with his professional ice skating partner and the constant rehearsing and practising has meant he hasn’t been able to spend much time with his family at home.
Luke is missing his two baby sons and his fiance Lynsey Kraanen and it sounds like he’s kind of glad the ITV series os drawing to a close.
He told The Sun: “My family are used to me being away, but it is still tough to spend time apart.
“My little boy Leo is three and he tells Lynsey, ‘I’m going to see my daddy but you can’t come — it’ll just be me and daddy’.
“It’s difficult to hear that he has said things like that. Hopefully I’ll be able to spend more time at home after the show.”
Luke and Lynsey were supposed to be planning their wedding this year but his heavy workload has put a halt on that for now and he added:
“Lynsey and I are engaged, but we haven’t had time to set a date yet or even think about what kind of wedding we’d like.”
Luke added: “I’m really enjoying the show and I’m so grateful to the people who vote for me every week.”
Luke will return to the ice this evening but he’ll have quite a big challenge on his hands. The boxer is bookies favourite to leave and if he wants to survive elimination, he’ll have to successfully work a skipping rope into his routine, without tripping over of fluffing his moves.
His partner Jenna Smith seems confident about it all and tweeted her fans this week saying:
“Super excited to say that @luke11campbell and I have the coolest routine this week!!! Get ready for a knockout performance!! #DOI 👊👊❄❄❄❄”
