Dancing On Ice star and Olympic boxer Luke Campbell has of course – like everyone else – had to put up with barbed remarks and criticism from judge Jason Gardiner, including being branded “a little, weak, feeble boy” by Jason.
However, Luke has retorted that even his nan could “take” Jason, saying, “My nanna would put up a better challenge than him.”
But Luke, who’s partnered on the show by pro-skater Jenna Smith, is now hoping to win Jason over rather than having to resort to bringing in his granny to kick Jason’s a**e.
Speaking to TV Biz, Luke said, “My task now is to get a really good comment out of him…
“But I don’t really care when he’s horrible to me.
“If he starts having a go I am ready for it and I have got a few things tucked up my sleeve.”
Such as his fist…
I of course jest, and getting back to what Luke had to say, he revealed that he’s been working hard for this weekend’s show, but nearly faced disaster during training.
He explained, “I feel quite nervous this week. The routine has a lot of elements in it and footwork that needs to go right and there are a couple of hardcore moves.
“It is going to be a tough one. I had a fall in practice and smashed my elbow on the ice and cut it and my fingers on Jenna’s blade…
“It is a big worry for me not to get injured but on the other hand I am giving it my all.
“I am really training to be the best I can be but it doesn’t come naturally.
“I want to get Jason on my side a little bit now and try to put in an extra good performance in.
“I still like Jason, though. I find him amusing.”
Here’s a reminder of Luke’s performance in last weekend’s Duel…
