Dancing On Ice 2013 results: Who left? Keith Chegwin or Pamela Anderson (whose dress fell off!)?
Dancing On Ice returned with a bang this evening and we were treated to the first ever live performances by half of this year’s celebrity contestants.
After all the stars had performed with their new professional partners, Phillip Schofield stood in the spotlight on the results show and revealed that the bottom two would consist of Keith Chegwin and Pamela Anderson, who would have to perform for a second time, before the judges saved one.
The skate off has been changed slightly this year and the contestants didn’t perform their earlier routines, instead they skated to a song of their choosing and performed a whole new piece, choreographed specially to play to their strengths.
Keith was first to return to the rink with his partner Olga and he performed to the theme tune from The Omen. It was a dark piece of music that we don’t think really suited his bubbly personality, but it was nice to see a more dramatic side to him. He is much more accomplished that we would have expected at this stage of the competition and we admit, we were a little sad to see him in the bottom two. He seeminly has so much more to give.
Next up was the former Baywatch actress, who would have been desperate to stay in for at least one more week after recently being voted off USA’s Dancing With The Stars in the first week of the series.
They performed to ‘Sacrifice’ by Sinead O’Connor and in comparison to Keith’s routine, this one was softer, much more feminine and graceful. However, Pam slipped up early on and had quite a stumble, where she fell into Matt Ever’s arms. She later said she lost focus because her ‘dress fell off’ and while she did continue the routine, from that point it seemed that her fate was almost sealed.
After the two performances the judges had their say and first to cast their vote was Karen Barber. She saved Keith, saying he’d given the best performance. Ashley Roberts saved Keith also, ‘just because of the stumbles.’ Jason agreed with the girls, as did head judge Robin and therefore Anderson was skating off the show.
