Dancing On Ice 2013: Sylvain Longchambon speaks out about Jennifer Metcalfe split and admits he feels ‘protective’ of Samia Ghadie!
Sylvain Longchambon has finally broken his silence over his recent split from Jennifer Metcalfe and he insists he hasn’t done anything wrong.
The French hunk has been painted as something of a love rat by the Hollyoaks actress, who claimed that he dumped her over Christmas, because he fell for his new Dancing On Ice partner Samia Ghadie during their frequent rehearsal sessions.
Jennifer was very vocal about her heartbreak and devastation and this week flew to Dubai for a holiday, so she could avoid bumping into the pair at the National Television Awards. However, speaking to The Mirror about the breakup Sylvain insisted that he was ‘honest’ with his girlfriend all along and explained:
“I’ve done nothing wrong, I’ve been honest. We’ve only had Jennifer’s point of view, that’s her point of view.”
Longchambon has seemingly cut all ties with the brunette beauty and added:
“I haven’t been in touch with Jennifer, I’m not thinking about that at the moment, I’m just focusing on my work and the skating.”
The professional ice skater admitted that he struggled to cope with being in the press and all the negative attention in the weeks leading up to the new series of Dancing On Ice. It’s starting to calm down and he’s getting used to it now.
“A few days before the show, it was upsetting, but now it’s fine,” he said.
And he said of Samia: “She’s really small, I’m quite protective of her. Samia works really hard.”
In an interview with Entertainmentwise earlier this week Sylvain did deny Jen’s claims that he was dating Ghadie though. He told the website that he is definitely single and has no plans for Valentines Day next month. He admitted that he and the Corrie star do share some chemistry though and he thinks that’s a good thing for the ITV show.
“It’s always a little plus when you get on very well with your partner,” the handsome star explained.
“I think it’s better for the routine and for the audience as well.”
