Suzanne Shaw returned to the ice this weekend after last week’s ‘80s inspired dance.
The judges were relatively positive last week in their comments as Jason said that nobody could fault her performance, whilst Karen said that the elements and control were all present – but can she score higher on the leaderboard this weekend?
In a video that was recorded earlier this week, Suzanne said she loved reliving the 80s last week as she was born in the ‘80s so it’s about the nostalgia and reliving her youth as she grew up. In ’84, she was three and she’d just started dance classes.
The things she remembers about the ‘80s include shoulder pads, The Goonies, Footloose, wearing outrageous things and singing and dancing!
In her VT this evening, Suzanne said that she can’t seem to shake the number 5 spot on the leaderboard. She tries her best but they just need to move up the leaderboard.
The pair skated to Black Velvet this evening and the performance was very smooth and contained quite a bit of content. It was a clean performance from Suzanne this evening, so hopefully she will be able to shake that number 5 spot.
Suzanne managed to score 37 points this evening.
Ashley Roberts: I was nervous from earlier as there was a few bumps in rehearsal. You were sultry and sexy.
Karen Barber: It was well earned. I felt all of that. I was waiting for that performance to come together. I loved it. It was brilliant for me.
Jason Gardiner: This is Suzanne back in the race! It all came together for you tonight as you had your technical elements which married perfectly with your choreography. Just watch some of your landing out of the black velvet drop. Smooth that out and you’re going to get 10s.
Nicky Slater: Again, the artistic side – you’re brilliant together. Beautiful performance and you did a wonderful turn at speed with attack. Well done.
