Dancing On Ice Bosses To Sack A Judge?
Dancing On Ice bosses are said to be considering sacking one of their five judges to make more time for the others to be heard.
A show source commented: “There are some great names on the panel but sometimes we don’t get enough out of them. In the early stages of the competition there are so many dancers you only have a few minutes for them to comment.
“Often we only have time for one judge so you have four people who are sitting there twiddling their thumbs.”
The Dancing On Ice panel currently comprises Jason Gardiner, Ruthie Henshall, Robin Cousins, Nicky Slater and Karen Barber. I would recommend that Karen is dropped from next years lineup. She’s a nice woman and obviously a good coach but often her critique is coloured by the fact that she knows the skaters personally and finds it hard to be honest with them.

I would like to see Ruthie go as she does not vote on the skating but whether she likes them or not. This year she just seemed to what to outshine Jason all the time.

I personally am happy with the judging panel but if you have to eliminate one then I think it should be Ruthie as she has her favourites and always gives them a high score regardless how they perform. Karen is an honest person, and Nickie also, and Robin has all the experience and gives honest comments that help the skaters, Jason well the show would not be the same without him.

I agree – lose Ruthie, far too biased! You have to keep Karen – she does get involved with the skaters but it’s great seeing her keep Nicky and Jason in order.

I don’t know why but I really like Ruthie. She did get a bit nasty in this series, granted, but sometimes the likes of Roxanne and Gemma were so so irritating!

I must admit, I don’t recall her being like it last year. I did like Roxanne but Gemma I didn’t warm to at all. Apart from her, I thought they were a really great bunch. Just wish the low seats at the O2 weren’t all gone – I don’t do heights!

Yeah, it is a bit scary sitting up there at the O2. We went to see Prince last year and I felt like I could fall over any minute!

ruthie to go shes not a ice skater. karen and nicky and robin are ice skaters jason isnt a ice skater but its funny when people boo him.

Well i just love the programme amd the judges but for me Ruthie would be the one to go as she likes her favourites and that is not good with a judge .
