Dancing On Ice: Christopher Dean misses Olympic action due to shoulder surgery

It seems that ice skating really does take it’s toll on the body.

In 2008 Jayne Torvill was forced to skate alone in public for the first time in more than 20 years, because her partner and fellow Dancing On Ice boss Christopher Dean was having surgery on his knee.

This week the skating legend has revealed that he needs to visit the hospital once more, this time for an operation on his shoulder.

In 2008 Chris underwent keyhole surgery for a cartilage problem in his right knee and on Wednesday he had his shoulder fixed and tweeted fans writing:

“Going to miss some Olympics, off for shoulder surgery. Joy.”

Insiders say the operation went well and Chris will be more than fit to return to the ice when Dancing On Ice starts again in January.

Jayne tweeted:

‘Chris is good! Just very sleepy after op! Thank you for all your kind messages! Jx’

Yesterday Chris posted a picture showing his arm in a sling and him clutching a cup of Starbucks coffee.

It was accompanied by the caption:

‘That’s. Better.’
