Dancing On Ice Results 2011: Vanilla Ice voted off!
Vanilla Ice has become the latest celebrity to be eliminated from ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
The American rapper found himself in the bottom two with fellow favourite Laura Hamilton, despite them both coming joint first and second on the judges leaderboard earlier in the show.
Laura took to the ice and kicked off the skate off, with another go at her Charleston themed routine. It was just as good the second time round and after performing she admitted:
You know what, we went out there and had a really good time. We thoroughly enjoyed every performance we have done so far.
Vanilla and Katie then emerged and performed their Flamenco routine once more. Again, it was just as clean as it had been first time round and there wasn’t much that they could have improved on. Afterwards he told Phillip Schofield:
Hey man, I’m enjoying every bit of the experience, even this. The adrenaline is amazing, I’m enjoying the whole experience.
When it came to the judge’s decision, Robin saved Laura, Emma saved Laura and Jason followed suit.
Ice took the news well and insisted:
I’ve had a great time man. Everything here is just amazing and I appreciate the whole experience, it’s been a real adventure.
Don’t worry fans, Vanilla has signed up to the nationwide tour, so if you have managed to get yourself some tickets, you will see him skate again!

What a fix again.
cant believe vanilla ice has been voted off no way should if have been in the bottom two its fixed!!
This result was such a travesty! I think the two acts who were last in the judges’ marks should actually give up their places in protest.That would be the decent thing for them to do as their skating was so inferior to the two who were in the skate off.
Here here i agree entirely. Something needs to be done or we will end up with a hopeless skater winning the whole show.

Does anyone know what was wrong with Johnson? He didn’t look happy that he was staying when he heard the results?! Totally wrong that Vanilla has gone!!
It’s ridiculous. This is not a skating competition. Laura and Vanilla are far superior to the two at the bottom. At least Denise has a bit of personality but Johnson is so boring compared to the other skaters.
Maybe we can just hand the winners trophy to Denise or Johnson right now and let the rest of the skaters get on with what the show is supposed to be about. The result tonight was a farse. Agree with Ede. I too find Johnson very boring to watch.

If Denise has an ounce of honour she will immediately resign. Does this show that the public are stupid, is it a fix, or is it just that the public do not vote for those at the top of the leader board as they believe are not at risk.
I’m afraid this is what happens when you involve the public (99% of which know nothing about ice skating, just who they are looking at!!). In a show of this magnitude it should be down to the judges to vote of the WEAKEST skaters each week

What a farce! Both skaters in the bottom 2 tonight are consistently some of the best skaters in the competition, scoring high every week. It was obvious that either Denise or Johnson were the next that should have left going on skating ability. Brilliant skaters being in the bottom 2 makes a mockery of the whole show.It means that potentially one of the worst skaters could end up winning just because they have the support of the public.I am absolutely fuming that Vanilla ice went out tonight i looked forward to his skate every week. The judges need to step in and stop this from happening again!!!

I cannot believe that the public are not voting for the best skaters. This is what the programme is about after all. I agree with Julie who stated that Johnson looked slightly unhappy at being voted to stay in. As a non-celebrity I’m sure his conscience was telling him that the result was wrong. I also agree with Patrick. Denise should do the decent thing and quit to let Rob (Vanilla Ice) back in. He is the better skater.

absolute joke 2 of the best skaters in the skate off, no one will vote johnson off due to his vc, or denise as she is the eldest. not going on in my house again, come on itv…viewers votes are a farce. let the people in the know decide the outcome, not a country full of sympathy voters. shame to see you go rob x

i dont think its a fix. It is definitely the public voting for johnson because of is vic and also denise because of age. johnson was definitely mortified at being left in the show. A decent guy he is. We wont be watching it again. We enjoyed the good skaters at this stage of the show. Its not enjoyable anymore.
Denise and Johnson are getting votes in recognition of the courage it takes to go on week after week. They have to work so much harder than the rest of the skaters in order to progress. I admire them both enormously.
The viewers know who the best skaters are from the Judges marking but the viewing public apply a different criteria. If either Denise or Johnson were pressured to step down it would be a slap in the face to all their supporters. This is after all, an entertainment programme and I, for one, would not miss a single week even though the country I live in is two hours ahead of the UK so I have to stay up late to watch it and at 73 years old I need my sleep!!!
What a shame, I really enjoyed Vanilla’s personality and what he brought to the show. He wasn’t the worst by far and didn’t deserve to be voted off.
My wife was nearly in tears after a farcical result. Denise is practically carried around the ice by her partner. Johnson is certainly the best skater of the two and deserves to stay another week. In future let the judges decide.

Had a feeling this would happen. I dont think it matters who the public vote for, its about keeping the balance of the performers. We all know Denise and Johnson wont win the title, they are still there because the programme makers know they are popular with the British veiwing public, but there are a lot of top skaters still left at the top. So sombody had to be sacrified. I loved Rob, and I,m sure if the voting public really counted, he would still be there, and not Denise and Johnson.
Here we go again! First Strictly now this what a shambles.I agree that the judges should pick the two worst skaters but if they did that would deprive ITV of all the revenue from the phone calls,and they would have to find something else for us to watch instead of the “nail biting” results Also does anyone else think that the show should be called “Richard and Judy on Ice” or don’t any of the other competitors have family?
I agree with most of the other comments, a complete and utter farce. Along with Strictly we should know the number of the votes for all of the competitors, must be easy to do with all the wizardry, and if they’ve been counted they already know what they are, shame that we dont !! This whole thing, like Strictly, is stage managed by the broadcasters and I dont believe that the votes are genuine, for gods sake get rid of Jason closely followed by Emma.

Laura and Collin should never ov been in then skate nor vanillia ice this was preplaned by DOI bosses to murder Laura and collin and ruin thier chances of winning i think its a fix
I am so upset that Vanilla Ice went. I agree with the comments that this is now a farce. It shouldn’t be called ‘Dancing on Ice’ as obviously this isn’t what it’s all about.
I think it’s wrong that decent ‘Dancers on Ice’ are put in the skate off.
Rename it ‘Popular on Ice’ then everyone would know what to expect.
I would be ashaqmed to have gotten through to the next round at the expense of someone who can skate. It isn’t Johnson nor Denises fault but they should do the decent thing and leave in favour of a better skater

Why do we have to have a public vote at all? With Strictly come Dancing it could be argued that the programme is broadcast on BBC and the viewers are licence payers and therefore should participate, although I find it a weak argument. But surely that can’t apply to ITV who are a commercial company supported by sponsors…maybe it’s the sponsors who should be voting on Dancing on Ice and not the public!
Get a life people. It’s only a celeb show-off show, who really cares? (well er.. I suppose you lot do obviously).
