Sam Attwater is not having a good week.

The former Eastenders actor is due to compete against Chloe Madeley and Laura Hamilton on this Sunday’s Dancing On Ice final, but has as yet been unable to fully rehearse his routine because of a rib injury he sustained.

Sam and his fellow contestants have to choreograph and plan their own performance for the series finale and will be skating with a number of the professional team. However, while rehearsing a difficult lift with two women, he managed to sprain his ribs and cut his knuckles.

Speaking about how the injury has affected his rehearsals, he told Kate Garraway on Lorraine this morning:

At the moment I can’t do any of my lifts which is a problem, because that is my main asset. We haven’t been able to run through anything fully but hopefully when the adrenaline kicks in on the night it will all work.

To make matters worse, Sam’s professional partner Brianne Delcourt has come down with flu and was unable to join him at the practice rink today. Sam added:

She’s got flu so I told her to stay in bed and rest.

He later tweeted:

That’s a lot of bad luck in one week……maybe it’s an omen!
