Dancing On Ice Spinoff To Air Midwek?

ITV bosses are said to be considering airing a midweek spinoff of Dancing On Ice when it returns to our screens in 2010.
This years series has only two weeks left before te winner is revealed and has been averaging around 10 million viewers each Sunday night. Cash strapped producers are sad to be considering capitalising on that popularity by extending the show to a spinoff version which would possibly air on a Monday or Thursday evening.
A network insider told The Sun: “Dancing On Ice works so well for ITV they want to get as much value out of it as possible.
“They already have the studio booked but it just sits there empty for most of the week.
“The thinking is a midweek show could be a great way of getting more value out of the set.”
The source added: “Ice Star is a really popular part of the show but it often gets little attention because it’s crammed into the main show.
“Bosses reckon it could easily stand alone and be something extra for fans to enjoy during the week.
“Top brass at ITV are really keen to get more entertainment shows on during the week.
“Whenever I’m A Celebrity or Britain’s Got Talent airs during the week they get massive numbers.”
