Dancing On Ice: Vanilla Ice models some blue suede skates!

Vanilla Ice was still sporting a shiner when he started Dancing On Ice rehearsals this week and was obviously struggling with nerves since he took his bad fall last week.

His confidence has been knocked and in the week when he had to tackle a challenging independent step sequence, it couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Skating with his pro-partner Katie Stainsby tonight, Ice performed to Elvis’ ‘Blue Suede Shoes and was wearing the most snazzy pair of blue suede skates!

We loved the rock and roll feel of the routine and the fact that Vanilla (or Rob!) brings so much personality to the rink. He struggled with the step sequence though and definitely stumbled after a jump, but the last lift/flip thing was amazing and impressed us greatly!

Judges Comments:

Jason: 5 Please can you stop this silly miming, you have enough energy and charisma that we don’t need to see you mouthing the lyrics as well. Also, I think there is a lack of finish and finesse to your lines. It is a little too unbridled and crazy, which is why you are seeing these slip ups.

Emma:5.5 It was fast, furious real rock and roll but your posture is a problem for me. But I love the way you perform!

Robin: 5.5 You do perform like a hockey skater trying to figure skate. You need to work on your footwork and don’t fluff through it.
