Jennifer Ellison has admitted that she is desperate to make the final of this year’s Dancing On Ice final.
The show enters it’s penultimate stage tonight, with all remaining four contestants – Chico Slimani, Matthew Wolfenden, Jorgie Porter and Jen – facing another Ultimate Skills Challenge and a solo routine.
The person with the highest score will win a place in next Sunday’s final and one will be eliminated by public vote. Ellison has admitted that she is desperate to ensure that the unlucky celebrity, who will go home tonight, isn’t her.
She told The Daily Star:
“I desperately want to get to the final.
“I have put so much effort into getting where I am that it would be wrong not to want the title. I would be the first female Scouse winner. That would be good.”
Bookies are predicting that Chico Slimani will be the star leaving tonight, as he is the only one who has previously been p;laced in the bottom two. However, if the X Factor star is saved, they think time may be up for Jennifer.
When the series ends and the tour comes to it’s conclusion, Ellison will miss the regular exercise which the show rehearsals provide her with.
The former Brookside actress has dropped from a size 18 to a svelte size 8 in the last year and while she doesn’t think that practicing with her professional partner Dan Whiston has helped her shed pounds, she said it has toned up her body.
Jen told Heat:
“I don’t think skating is good for actually losing weight, as you need to eat so much just to keep your energy levels up but it is like being in a permanent squat so I’m definitely more toned. I’ve got buns of steel now!”
However she will enjoy the time off and the chance to spend more time with her family as of next month. Explaining how her job has impacted on her home life in recent weeks, she added:
“It’s been hard. It’s been the only downside, because I come down on Thursday night and I go home on Monday,” she explained. “[My son Bobby] is at the age where he understands, so he gets to the train station and says ‘Bye train! No no no!’
One up side is that the blonde beauty has become more comfortable with her own company. Jen tweeted this week to reveal that she used to hate being alone, but all the time spent in her London hotel room recently, has helped her get over her issues. She wrote:
I used to freak out being on my own! Now sitting here in the hotel alone I ve realised I’m actually ok with it now xxx
