Johnson Beharry for Dancing On Ice 2011

Army hero Johnson Beharry is reportedly hoping to appear on next year’s series of Dancing On Ice.

31 year old Lance Corporal Beharry was awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest military decoration for valour in the British and Commonwealth armed forces, for twice saving members of his unit from ambushes on 1 May and again on 11 June 2004 at Al-Amarah, Iraq.

He has not been able to return to active service since the rescue, after a head injury left him with shrapnel in his brain.

An insider told The Sun:

“Johnson would be an exciting addition and bring a new dimension to the refreshed show.

“The fact he is already highly regarded by the public helps. He is a very determined character.

“He’s training despite being in pain from his injuries.

“If he copes well then he is a cert to appear in the final 12 in January.”
