Kyran Bracken Wins Dancing On Ice 2007

It was a GREAT final! It was my dream final!
Clare Buckfield and Kyran Bracken really both deserved to be there and there versions of The Bolero were enchanting to watch.
I couldn’t choose between the two and with each routine my mind changed about who I wanted to win, in reality, both went in with such fabulous attitudes that there couldn’t really be a loser tonight.
Kyran was crowned the ice skating king, and Clare looked genuinely happy for him. It was British TV at it’s best!

Kyran totally deserved to win even though his final routine (the flying one) was the worst one had had done. He was consistently the best for many weeks in a row & he was also funny, obviously giving it his all & just seemed like such a nice guy.
I’m almost heartbroken the series is nearly over & am really trying to find the money to go see the tour.

I have never watched a more blatantly rigged show. From early on in the competition Kyran Bracken was being pipped as the winner, despite lacking the grace and quality of performance on the ice that Duncan exhibited. It was plain that the organisers and their ‘ice panel’ were only interested in getting a man to win this time at all costs. The comparison of Kyran Bracken with Darren Gough was pathetic to say the least. Darren Gough combined masculinity with elegance, whereas Kyran Bracken exhibited all the grace of a circus clown, and usually delivered accordingly. The best performer of all was Clare Buckfield, whose skating was flawless and who never failed to delight, even while recovering from a fractured rib. Yet the final vote went to Kyran Bracken despite getting the lowest scores on the final night. A miracle of bias. The so called panel of experts have lost all credibility, as has this show.

Are you forgetting that early on everyone was going for Clare, with rumours going around that she had previous training?
The scores on the final night had NOTHING TO DO with the votes, at least on the final result. Everyone knew Kyran would struggle with the flying as it is physically difficult for him considering he is wider than the wires, and being bottom of the scores after that would obviously have an effect on him mentally before performing his Chasing Cars routine.
Stating that Clare was the best performer is highly subjective. Sure, she did all the flashy lifts, and was technically a great skater I’m not denying. To me, you just sound like a disgruntled viewer annoyed that your favourite didn’t win.
Kyran did have elegance, as much as a rugby player could have. It’s a little hard to go from knocking people around a field to twirling about on an ice rink. Technically, he was a fantastic skater – you can’t deny that. Performance-wise, he brought a smile to the nation (or most of it!), and even gave people goosebumps on his Chasing Cars routine, myself included. Personally, I was backing him from week one when everyone else backed Clare – having watched his VT, I wasn’t expecting much. I was VERY impressed with what he then performed, truly not expecting him to be so good. Technically he is a fantastic skater, as stated by Robin Cousins.
Or have you more experience in this domain than he?
