Mariella Frostrup turns down Dancing On Ice – Anthea Turner & Keith Chegwin sign up!

Mariella Frostrup has confirmed that she turned down the chance to star on next year’s series of Dancing On Ice.

The Norwegian born TV presenter writes for The Guardian, The Observer, The Mail on Sunday, Harpers & Queen and the New Statesman but is probably best known for the many arts programmes she fronts. The blonde beauty has also appeared on Have I Got News for You and the sitcom Absolutely Fabulous.

This afternoon the 49 year old star revealed that she has been approached to take part in the 2013 series of the ITV ice skating show, but claims she did the public a favour by turning it down.

She tweeted:

‘Oh lordy, just turned down Dancing On Ice-saved you all a repeat of Miss Piggy and Nureyev in ‘Swine Lake’!’

Mariella may not be taking part but recent reports suggest that Anthea Turner is.

The fame seeking star is keen to get over her recent marital problems by throwing herself into a period of training for Dancing On Ice and a source told The Sun:

“Anthea has not been on the television for years so is aching to get back into the limelight.”

Also reported to have joined the lineup so far are Keith Chegwin and TOWIE star Lauren Goodger.
