Dancing On Ice: Show bosses sack 8 pro skaters to make way for high profile celebrity contestants, see who here!

by Anna Howell

Dancing On Ice bosses have made the drastic decision to sack a whopping eight of its professional skating stars, in order to make the budget more available for high-end celebrities taking part next year, The Sun newspaper reports.

The show, due to begin in January, is also headed for a huge revamp, with new twists and format changes, in a bid to make this series the best ever.

The eight sacked skaters are reported to be: Frankie Poultney, Nina Ulanova, Matt Gonzalez, Brooke Castile, Jodeyne Higgins, Sean Rice, Lukasz Rozycki and Alexandra Schauman.

And the celebrities they are allegedly making way for include the likes of Pamela Anderson, Anthea Turner, Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie, former EastEnder Matt Lapinskas, Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle, Towie’s Lauren Goodger, rugby player Gareth Thomas, X Factor winner Shayne Ward, singer Dionne Bromfield and comic Joe Pasquale.

Another big sting in the tail comes with the re-jig of the judging panel, with bosses reportedly bringing back show Mr Nasty to replace German Olympic skater, Katarina Witt, and are also reportedly re-introducing a fourth judge, previous show winner and former Emmerdale actress, Hayley Tamaddon.

A show source told TV Biz: “Dancing On Ice is heading for its best year ever.”
“Every single aspect is being improved.”

See below the pics of all the skaters who will no longer be entertaining us on cold January evening, with their last show partners below:
