Suzanne Shaw and Jason King have revealed that they have split and are heading for a divorce.

The pair have called time on their six year relationship and issued a statement in which they claim they are still friends, but blame hectic work schedules and a lack of time together, on forcing a distance between them.

Jason and Suzanne both parent her son with Darren Day – Corey – after the West End star became estranged from the child when he left Shaw on Mother’s Day, three months after she gave birth in 2005.

Shaw and King stated:

‘We had a wonderful time together and have great memories but constantly working away from each other added a lot of pressure and we have ended up growing apart.

‘We are still friends and will be making sure we still have family time together for our son’s sake.’

The pair got engaged in 2008 and went on to marry in June 2009, however soon after Suzanne landed a role in ITV soap Emmerdale and was forced to relocate to Yorkshire for over a year.

Last month DJ King started a new job, as co-presenter of Heart Breakfast alongside Lucy Horobin on local radio station Heart Solent.

It seems that their busy work lives and conflicting schedules was a massive factor in the breakdown of their relationship.
