The now former Dragons’ Den star Hilary Devey has reportedly been granted a “quickie” divorce from her third husband, Phil Childs.

Hilary – who quit Dragons’ Den last year before it was announced that tycoon Theo Paphitis is also leaving the show – apparently cited Childs’ “unreasonable behavior” when she filed for the divorce.

The Sunday People reports, “Papers were served at the High Court on Thursday during a 70-second hearing.”

Last year, Hilary said that the end of her marriage to Childs was “one of the unhappiest periods of my life”.

She added, “It’s bloody hard knowing a third relationship has gone down the pan.

Hilary, who’s previously been married to Malcolm Sharples and Ed Devey, left Dragons’ Den to star in her own Channel 4 ¬series, The Intern. Here’s what C4 had to say about the new show when it was announced in June last year…

Channel 4 has signed Hilary Devey in a two year exclusive deal.

Hilary is best known for being a hugely successful entrepreneur and for being one of the dragons on Dragon’s Den.

Hilary’s first Channel 4 series will see her fronting brand new factual entertainment series The Intern (w/t), which will offer talented, ambitious and deserving candidates a leg up the ladder in their chosen career by giving them the chance to win an internship with some of the most exciting employers in the UK.

To prove their mettle, the candidates will be thrown in at the deep end and, over the course of a week, will experience a super-charged version of life in their chosen field through a number of challenges and real-life scenarios devised to test their suitability for their chosen profession. Made by Boundless, this series is their big opportunity to prove they have the skills and personality required to make a break and secure the prized internship.

The Intern was commissioned by Channel 4 Head of Factual Entertainment, Liam Humphreys, and will air in the autumn.

Channel 4 Chief Creative Officer, Jay Hunt, said: “Hilary is not only an exceptional businesswoman but an unforgettable TV presenter. I am thrilled she is joining Channel 4.”

Hilary Devey said: “I am thrilled and excited by the prospect of working with Channel 4. The formats for my new shows are fantastic and I’m sure they will prove compulsive viewing.”
